COVID-19

After some very unprecedented times, Colin & Sarah are looking forward to reopening the doors to Portland House and welcoming their guests back to beautiful Keswick in the Lake District.

Portland House will be taking all possible steps to ensure it is Covid-free. We have adhered to Government recommendations, and completed all on-line assessments to ensure we are Covid-19 prepared and have received the “Good to Go” accreditation, and will be implementing our action plan accordingly.

All guests will be temperature checked upon arrival – this is to protect guests and staff. Any guests showing a high temperature will not be admitted. All guests will be required to use the hand sanitiser provided on entering Portland House and the breakfast room.

Breakfast will need to be pre-ordered the night before. We are spacing tables apart to provide social distancing, table service only, regular cleaning and overnight ventilation. Our dining room will only be open during service times in the morning, with social distancing guidelines in place. This means that our guests will be required to arrive only at the time stated and to depart within 40 minutes so that we can clean effectively between guests.

Hand sanitiser will be available around the house, on each floor, and provided in each room.

Should any guest feel unwell during their stay, or begin the show any signs of Covid-19 symptoms please inform the owners, Colin & Sarah, immediately. We will take your temperature again, and if it is high or your symptoms are Covid-19 related the following actions must be taken:

1) If possible you need to make your own way home immediately by car if you drove to the Lake District. You should travel alone if possible, and then self-isolate for 14 days upon arriving home.
2) If travelling via public transport, we will endeavour to make arrangements to help you return home as quickly as possible, and provide additional face masks, gloves and hand sanitiser for your journey, as required. It will not be possible to self-isolate at Portland House.

All rooms will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised between guests using the Sanondaf touchless disinfection system - Sandondaf.
