Keswick lies on the north shore of Derwentwater, a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains and fells in the heart of the Lake District National Park.
Whatever your interests or pursuits, Keswick is the ideal place for a Lakeland holiday. Some of the best walking and cycling in England are close by, including the Cumbria Way and Coast to Coast routes.

From the lakeshore you can catch a launch which will take you round the lake or drop you off at any of the six landing stages from where you can walk the fells and take in breathtaking views. Other activities available locally include sailing, windsurfing, horse riding, rock climbing, golf and many more.

The Lake District National Park offers motorcyclists the opportunity to ride roads in some of the most spectacular and breathtaking scenery in the country. Some roads are very challenging with steep climbs but are an experience not to be missed!
If relaxation is more your style you will find a wide variety of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants in the town, and plenty of places nearby to visit by car or bus.

There are two beautiful parks in the town where a range of sports can be enjoyed such as tennis, pitch and putt, crazy golf, petanque and an exciting new BMX track.

Markets are held in the town on Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the year selling local produce, crafts and gifts.

For evening entertainment The Theatre by the Lake produces a summer season of 6 plays every year alongside a full programme of visiting shows and artistes. The Alhambra Cinema shows latest releases and independent titles.
